Balaposh - Quilts Embroidery
Quilting is the stitching together of two or more layers of fabric to create a warm, protective and often decorative cover.
Usually, two or three layers of cotton fabric are stitched together to make a quilt. Quilts are a way of utilising fabrics which are old and worn and in this way, they are recycled into a useful textile. Large pieces of fabric are used with the best piece on the top, sometimes smaller pieces are sewn together to make the required size. The running stitch which quilts the fabrics together is often worked in the form of spirals, triangles, oblongs and zigzags. Usually, the quilt is surrounded by a border which may be plain or decorative.
