Ahir women use the chain and open-chain stitch in their embroidery. The predominant colours are white, yellow, green, red and blue on a white, yellow or orange background.
They embellish their embroidery with mirrors. Their motifs are varied - flowers, animals, birds and human figures. Ahir embroidery is mainly used on wedding scarves (burkhanis), cushion covers, wall hangings, short skirts (gaghras).
